NewYork GreenCloud (NYGC) has partnered with E3NV and 2CRSi to build the Buena Vista Data Center in California, an advanced modular facility designed for high-performance artificial intelligence computing. This collaboration represents a major step forward in the evolution of data infrastructure, combining American-built modular systems with the most efficient AI hardware available today.
From Data Centers to AI Factories
Traditional data centers were designed to host applications and store data, relying on air-cooled, CPU-based servers that typically consume large amounts of energy while providing only 3 to 10 kW per rack. By contrast, AI Factories, like those being deployed by NYGC and E3NV, are built specifically for large-scale model training and inference. These GPU-dense environments can reach 200 kW per rack and operate in modular pods of up to 6 MW, supported by advanced immersion-cooling systems capable of achieving PUE ≤ 1.1.
This level of efficiency and performance allows circular energy systems, such as Buena Vista Biomass Power (BVBP), to directly support next-generation AI workloads.
E3NV Data Center 2.0: Modular, American-Made Innovation
E3NV’s Data Center 2.0 introduces a new generation of modular Superpods that combine power distribution, cooling and compute into compact, factory-built enclosures. Each Superpod is designed, manufactured and assembled in the United States, using more than 75% American-made components. E3NV’s commitment to U.S.-based production supports domestic manufacturing, shortens supply chains and ensures high-quality control for mission-critical infrastructure.
These factory-built Superpods can be quickly deployed on-site, reducing construction time and permitting complexity. This approach will allow NYGC’s Buena Vista facility to scale rapidly while maintaining flexibility and energy efficiency. The result is a modular data center that aligns perfectly with behind-the-meter renewable power from BVBP.
Biomass Today, Pyrolysis Tomorrow
The Buena Vista project is designed to evolve over time. In its initial phase, the data center will be powered by renewable biomass energy generated on-site. As the project transitions into its second phase, BVBP will convert to a biomass-to-pyrolysis configuration, creating a carbon-negative power source capable of capturing and utilizing carbon byproducts such as biochar and syngas.
This evolution will also allow BVBP to increase total power output, enabling it to support greater compute capacity at the data center. Because E3NV’s modular architecture is designed for scalability, NYGC can simply add additional Superpods as power availability grows. This synchronized expansion model ensures that compute capacity can scale in step with clean energy generation.
2CRSi: Immersion-Cooled AI at Scale
As an Elite Partner of NVIDIA, 2CRSi provides the high-density, immersion-cooled server platforms that will power E3NV’s modular environments. According to its press release, 2CRSi will supply more than $290 million in next-generation computing systems to support the NYGC-E3NV deployment at Buena Vista.
Through immersion cooling technology, 2CRSi servers operate within dielectric fluid baths that maintain stable thermal conditions even under extreme compute loads. This method provides up to 40% energy savings compared with traditional air-cooled designs and supports the compact rack densities required for AI-factory performance.
A Blueprint for Sustainable, American AI Infrastructure
By combining E3NV’s American-built Data Center 2.0 Superpods with 2CRSi’s immersion-cooled AI systems, NYGC is setting a new standard for sustainable and domestically sourced data center construction. The Buena Vista Data Center will demonstrate how biomass and pyrolysis-based circular energy systems can sustain exponential compute demand while supporting U.S. manufacturing and local job creation.
As BVBP’s power generation increases through its transition to pyrolysis, E3NV’s modular design ensures that the data center can expand in tandem, adding compute capacity seamlessly and efficiently.
